Speaking up for community:

Meta speaks in support of Zoning proposal to allow ADU (casitas) as permissive construction in single family R1 zones also reducing the parking requirements. The vote was postponed until June 2 when the city councilors voted 5-4 to approve a sweeping set of zoning code changes aimed at increasing housing stock throughout the city.

The bill, part of Mayor Tim Keller’s Housing Forward initiative. Councilors Tammy Fiebelkorn, Pat Davis, Klarissa Peña and bill co-sponsors Trudy Jones and Isaac Benton voted in favor of the measure.

Later that month the bill, with amendments passed and was signed into law by Mayor Keller.
